We're OPEN for business. We work with 75 government agencies to get your records faster than you can do on your own and in digital form. Most agencies are open but operating slower than normal. One agency, the National Archives, remains mostly closed but we will submit your request electronically the same day we receive it and preserve your place in line.

"The help I received was wonderful! I thank all of you for your work. I could not have obtained a marker for my father without your speedy help. Your support was not just good, but excellent! "Good, I'm satisfied", is too mild."

The US Navy offers sea burial for veterans, active duty members, and some family and civilians. A copy of DD Form 214 is required in the Burial at Sea Request package.
VA Benefits From the GI Bill to VA mortgage loans, from disability compensation to home improvement grants, the VA requires a DD-214 to prove military service and apply for benefits.
Some government jobs offer a points-based preference system for hiring veterans. A DD-214 is required to establish your preference level.
The National Cemetery Administration through the Department of Veterans Affairs offers an array of burial benefits. A DD-214 is required to determine eligibility.
Most states offer a special license plate for all veterans, with some offering specific designations for Purple Heart and Medal of Honor recipients. The state’s motor vehicle department usually requires a DD-214 to prove military service.
We find and deliver discharge documents. That’s our job. Depending on several factors, your DD-214 is stored at a government building in St. Louis, Washington DC, Fort Knox, or elsewhere. We work directly with archival researchers to obtain your DD-214. In many cases, we physically stand in line at government counters’ so you don’t have to!
By using an expeditor such as DD214 Direct™, you’ll avoid delays and annoyances. And unlike the government, we offer email delivery.
